Fábio Zambitte Ibrahim is an attorney and a professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), where he teaches Social Security Law, Public Finance Law, and Tax Law at the graduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. He previously served as a Tax Auditor for the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service and as President of the 10th Board of Appeals of the Social Security Administrative Appeals Council (CRPS).
Doctor in Public Law, UERJ. Masters Degree in Law, PUC Sao Paulo. Further to his law education, Fabio Zambitte Ibrahim has a degree in Merchant Navy Mechanical Engineering and specialisation in Production Engineering. He is fluent in English and Portuguese.
In addition to the recognition in 2011 as the Social Security public servant worker of the year, Fabio was awarded with the Naval Order of Merit and the Army Order of Merit, both in the level of Officer.
Started work in in the public service in1997, as a Federal Tax Inspector at the Social Security National Institute (INSS), which later evolved into the position of Tax Auditor at Brazil’s Revenue Authority. From 2007 until the finish of his work as a public servant, Fabio presided the 10th Recourse Board at Brazil’s Social Security Authority. Currently, acts as renowned expert in social security themes, as well as a professor at UERJ.
Published various articles and books, including the title ‘Curso de Direito Previdenciário which is a subject matter reference since 1999. Furthermore, his doctorate research was particularly well received within the academic environment, given its detailed proposal for comprehensive reform of the Brazilian social security system (‘A Previdência Social no Estado Contemporâneo”).
